Reduce, Reuse, Recycle & Rot

Ever wonder where our trash goes, or what happened to that plastic water bottle you recycled?  Four Rs in Action dives into the world of trash and presents easy and practical ways to implement reduce, reuse, recycle, and rot to make less waste. We come to your classroom or you can come to the Learning Garden for a fun and educational experience.


in hands on investigtions you can:

  • learn about our waste stream and landfills
  • conduct a neighborhood clean-up
  • build a model landfill and bury real garbage
  • make recycled paper
  • investigate red wiggler worms and an active compost bin
  • and more

or choose environmental action projects such as:
  • organize a school-wide No Waste lunch day
  • set up a worm compost bin in the classroom
  • create art projects out of reusable materials
  • construct a greenhouse from plastic bottles
  • and more
